Just a quick post tipping you all about this website on the “other canon”, a site for alternative schools of economic thought.
Would highly HIGHLY recommend Erik Reinerts book “How rich countries got rich and why poor countries stay poor”.
I also of course have to put in a good word for Cambridge professor Ha-Joon Chang’s must-read-books too!
-Kicking away the ladder (over view of developed countries economic policies during their development process)
-Bad Samaritans (for those who don’t know economic jargon)
-The political economy of industrial policy (for those with a bit of economic background)
And lastly but not least: Dani Rodrik’s website. He has lots of really interesting papers available for downloading on that website too (high five!). Definitely read the one on Self Discovery!
